Hungry for a Good Read?
Written by DJ Dribbler, Harry’s Kebabs is worth your attention
Music aside, one of the great things about the dance scene is the weird and wonderful characters who cross your path along the way.
Scottish DJ and radio presenter DJ Dribbler – real name Russ Forman – draws upon his experiences DJing at underground parties in London and the extreme characters he met during that time for his first book – Harry’s Kebabs.
The urban fiction novella follows five people in London who are all connected through the ’90s rave scene and its peripheral subcultures. A pool hustler, a photographic memory, a beggar by choice and a psychopathic erstwhile seaman are brought together by a former pirate radio mastermind to teach the Maltese a lesson in how to be a Londoner.
One of the four DJs behind the success of Edinburgh club night Pure, tour DJ for Orbital during the ‘90s and now an Ibiza resident, Dribbler presents Harry’s Kebabs as a fast-paced series of interlinked stories and characters with sharp wit. It’s available on Amazon as a paperback and Kindle version.
Forman also hosts a monthly radio show on Amsterdam’s Red Light Radio.
