STREETrave Chalks Up 30 Glorious Years
Soul II Soul and Adamski headline Scottish club’s all-dayer celebration
Legendary Scottish clubbing institution STREETrave is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a massive old school bash. The STREETrave30 Summer All-dayer goes down on Saturday, 27 July, at the SW3 Complex, in Glasgow, and it’s guaranteed to pull many of STREETrave’s original clubbing crew out of raving retirement.
The line-up reflects the DJs and acts pivotal to putting Streetrave on the clubbing map in its formative years – with Soul II Soul, Nightmares on Wax, Utah Saints, Joe Smooth, Sunscreem, Adamski, Joey Beltram and the Bassheads just some of the names confirmed.
Who can forget Joey Beltram’s 1991 classic Energy Flash?
Behind the decks you’ll find a band of local heroes including Jon Mancini and Boney, Kris Keegan, Michael Kilkie, Yogi Haughton, Billy Morris and Bob Jeffries, who played at STREETrave’s very first West Coast Jam at Ayr Pavilion. Tickets start at £30 plus booking fee and are available through Skiddle and Tickets Scotland.
For the early STREETrave gang, it’s almost impossible to fly out of Glasgow Prestwick airport without chuckling. Back in the day, when the airport was strapped for cash, STREETrave used to throw giant raves in the terminal concourse.
STREETrave went on to spawn the hugely successful Colours clubbing brand. Massive congratulations to promoter Ricky Magowan and his team. We’re amazed you lot are still standing.
